Chris Bellingham - Energy and Sustainable
Building Consultant
Chris’s
passion for sustainability and in particular sustainable energy began as a
youngster whilst working in the UK for a gap year after high school. He
returned to South Africa to study mechanical engineering and then went on to
gain his masters degree in sustainable energy engineering through the
University of Cape Town’s much respected Energy Research Institute (ERI); whilst
completing his masters, Chris worked for the ERI. After completing his masters
degree, Chris formed, and currently works for, EnviroMinds CC.
As both an
engineer and consultant, Chris is regularly responsible for the following
tasks:
·Feasibility studies
·Energy audits
·Carbon market related documents
·Sustainable energy systems design and
integration
·Sustainable building design and
optimisation

Anthon Human - Energy and Sustainable Building Consultant
Anthon has done, and continues to do,
research into sustainable and energy efficient technologies applicable to all
building sectors.
In
addition, in May-August Anthon was a key member of the EnviroMinds team
responsible for writing up the Energy Efficiency and Green Building Guidelines
for eThekwini Municpality.
As both an
engineer and consultant he is regularly responsible for the following tasks:

Gareth Davies - Architect
Extensive travels in India,
Europe and the USA, combined with practical knowledge gained in local
architectural firms has allowed for Gareth to further develop his broad minded
approach to architecture and its roll within Sustainable Development.
Upon return to South Africa in
2007, inspired and realising the importance of intelligent inter-disciplinary
design integration, Gareth joined forces with the engineers at EnviroMinds to
explore the integration of active ‘green technology’ systems with intelligent
passive architectural design.
Apart from working on
EnviroMinds projects, Gareth has also been hired by various architectural firms
as a freelance architect.
As an architect Gareth is regularly responsible for the
following tasks:
·Site analysis and project appraisal
·Analysis of existing buildings.
·Computer aided 3D simulation and
presentation.
·Technical Documentation for submission to
local Authorities.
·Technical documentation and detailing of
construction drawings.

Sarah Stands – Sustainable Development
Project Coordinator
Sarah is a Sustainable Development specialist with an emphasis
in planning, management, leadership and ecological design.
Extensive cultural experience from travelling and living in
Mexico, Europe, Ireland, a large portion of Africa, New Zealand, and the USA,
combined with a wide variety of practical knowledge gained through education,
has enabled Sarah to gain an extensive understanding of the importance of the cultural
role in ensuring successful Sustainable Development projects.
Sarah, inspired by the South African dynamic and the development
opportunities, moved to South Africa in 2007 and obtained her advanced degree.
In order to fulfil the impetus felt
by experience and the need of stronger mitigation of improved planning and leadership
in the world of Sustainable Development, Sarah joined the EnviroMinds
team.
As a
Sustainable Development specialist, Sarah is regularly responsible for the
following tasks:
·Project Coordinator including assessment of
cultural and socioeconomic challenges
·Site analysis and project appraisal
·Research Scientist
